Description

This carton serves two machines: the SECURIO P36i and the SECURIO P40i, which share a cabinet. It is the largest collecting box in HSM's SECURIO consumables list at 480 x 385 x 560 mm, matching the throughput of a P-series floor-standing shredder that is expected to serve a whole department. HSM article 1.850.995.200.

Compatible Models

  • HSM SECURIO P36i (all cut sizes)
  • HSM SECURIO P40i (all cut sizes)

It does not fit the B-series cabinets or the P44i, which takes its own article, 1870995200. The i in P36i and P40i denotes the integrated cabinet these boxes are cut for.

On a departmental machine the box, not the motor, is what limits a shredding session. Keeping two or three folded spares behind the unit is the cheapest way to stop a queue forming at the shredder on a records-clearance day. The carton ships flat and folds without tape, so spares store upright against a wall and take almost no room. Because a P36i or P40i is normally a shared departmental machine, it is worth naming someone responsible for the changeover; the common failure on floor-standing shredders is not mechanical but a full box that nobody owns. HSM publishes no filled weight for the article, and a carton of this size loaded with dense micro-cut waste is a two-person lift.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does one box really fit both the P36i and the P40i?

Yes. HSM lists article 1850995200 against device types P36i and P40i because the two machines use the same cabinet; the difference between them is throughput and cutting head, not the waste compartment. If you run one of each, you only need to stock one carton part number.

Will it fit a P44i?

No. The P44i has a larger cabinet and takes HSM article 1870995200. Ordering 1850995200 for a P44i leaves a carton that stands too low and too narrow in the compartment, which lets shreddings fall around it rather than into it.

Is the cardboard box better than using bags?

It depends on your waste stream. A carton keeps the whole load as paper, so it can often go to a paper recycler intact, and it stands up on its own while you fill it. Plastic sacks are lighter to carry out and easier to seal for off-site destruction. Many sites use bags for confidential collection and cartons for in-house recycling.

How much does the box hold?

HSM publishes the dimensions - 480 x 385 x 560 mm - rather than a rated volume. That encloses roughly 103 litres, about 27 US gallons, before you allow for the flaps and the clearance the cabinet needs. Use it as a planning figure rather than a guarantee.
