Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the cheaper B32 box in a B34?
We would not recommend it. The B32 carton is 400 x 260 mm at the base against 445 x 300 mm for the B34, so it sits loose in the larger cabinet and shreddings work their way down the sides. That means cleaning out the cabinet by hand later. Order 1840995200 for a B34.
Does it come flat or assembled?
HSM supplies its collecting boxes as corrugated cartons that are folded to shape on site. There are no tools involved and no tape needed for normal use. If you are stocking several, they store flat against a wall and take almost no space until you need them.
Is this a genuine HSM part?
Yes - it is HSM article 1.840.995.200, EAN 4026631034692, listed by HSM as the collecting box for device type B34 in the SECURIO line. Generic cartons cut to a similar size do exist, but the fit inside the cabinet and the clearance under the cutting head are what the HSM dimensions are set by.
What capacity is it?
HSM publishes dimensions rather than a volume for this article: 445 x 300 x 545 mm externally, which encloses roughly 73 litres or about 19 US gallons. Real capacity depends on the cut - strip-cut waste settles far less densely than micro-cut, so a P-5 machine will fill the same box more slowly by sheet count.
