Description

One correction worth making up front: the DE 4-100 and DE 4-240 are not shredders. They are HSM dust extraction units fitted to Powerline heavy-duty machines, and this carton is the collecting box for the dust they pull out of the shredding chamber. Its shape follows that job - 600 mm deep but only 200 mm high, a shallow tray that slides under the extractor. HSM article 2.410.995.200.

Compatible Models

  • HSM DE 4-100 dust extraction unit
  • HSM DE 4-240 dust extraction unit

HSM supplies the DE 4-100 in versions for different host machines, including the Powerline FA 400.2 / SP 4040 V and the FA 500.3 / SP 5080 / SP 5088. This carton is specified against the extractor, not against the shredder it is attached to. It is not a document collecting box and will not fit any SECURIO or Classic shredder cabinet.

Paper dust is fine, abrasive and unpleasant to handle loose, so the point of the carton is that it is sealed and removed without the dust being decanted. Change it on a schedule rather than waiting for extraction performance to drop off, and keep a spare with the machine's service kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a waste box for a shredder?

No. It is the dust collection box for HSM's DE 4-100 and DE 4-240 extraction units, which are fitted to Powerline heavy-duty shredders. Shredded paper goes into the machine's own bin or bag; this carton catches the fine dust the extractor removes. Product descriptions that call it a shredder waste box are wrong.

Will it fit my SECURIO or Classic shredder?

No. At 395 x 600 x 200 mm it is a shallow tray shaped for the extractor housing, not for a shredder cabinet. SECURIO machines take articles such as 1820995200, 1840995200, 1920995200 or 1850995200 depending on model, and the Classic range has its own set.

How often should the dust box be changed?

HSM does not publish a change interval, because it depends entirely on how much the host shredder runs and on the cut size - micro-cut work generates far more dust than strip-cut. The practical trigger is a visible drop in extraction or dust escaping around the machine. Build the check into the same routine as oiling the cutting head.

Does the same box fit both the DE 4-100 and the DE 4-240?

Yes. HSM lists article 2410995200 against both device types. What differs between the two extractors is capacity and the host machine they are matched to, not the collecting box. If you run both units on a site, you only need to stock this one part number.
