MBM DSH0395O 4003 cross-cut 3/32" x 5/8" (2 x 15 mm)

The MBM DSH0395O is the Destroyit 4003 configured for P-5, cutting paper to 3/32 x 5/8 in (2 x 15 mm) with an automatic oiler that keeps the fine shafts lubricated. A 1.75 HP motor gives it 16-18 sheets of 70 gsm per pass through a 16 in opening, and shred collects in a 44-gallon bin. It is meant for legal, records and clinical administration teams who shred P-5 material through the day and do not want to rely on someone remembering to oil the head.

Why the oiler is the deciding feature

A 2 x 15 mm head has many closely spaced cutters, and when they run dry, capacity falls and jams follow. On the 4001 version of this cut there is no oiler at all, so lubrication depends on the user. The 4003 doses oil automatically while it runs; the only job left is topping up the reservoir with Destroyit shredder oil, which is ordered separately. Aerosols, vegetable oils and general machine oils leave residue and can void the shaft warranty. Together with a motor nearly twice as strong as the 4001's, that moves the rating from 13-16 sheets up to 16-18.

Living with the 4003 P-5

Cross-cut P-5 waste packs densely, so the 44-gallon bin holds far more pages than the same bin on the strip-cut 4003. The machine stops itself when the bin is full or the door opens, the SPS shield guards the opening, ECC displays remaining capacity, and overfeeds reverse automatically. Leave room in front of the cabinet for the door to swing open when emptying. Bags are optional; AC0901 fits.

Choose the DSH0395O for steady daily P-5 shredding of mixed paper sizes with no electrical work. If you need more than 16-18 sheets and can provide a dedicated circuit, look at the 3105. If P-4 meets your policy, the P-4 4003 is faster and less expensive. It is not approved for CDs or DVDs.
