MBM DSH0364L 2604 super micro-cut 1/32" x 3/16" (.8 x 5 mm)

The DSH0364L is the highest-security build of the Destroyit 2604 cabinet. It reduces paper to 0.8 x 5 mm particles — 4 mm², comfortably inside the 5 mm² ceiling DIN 66399 sets for P-7, the top level in the standard. Everything else about the machine matches its cross-cut siblings: same 10.25-inch throat, same 26-gallon bin, same 115 V outlet. What changes is what you give up for that particle size. Capacity falls to six to eight sheets, the machine takes paper and nothing else, and the shaft warranty drops from lifetime to one year. Those are not marketing footnotes; they are the whole basis on which you should decide between this and the DSH0362L.

Key Features

• P-7 particle size — 0.8 x 5 mm is 4 mm² with a sub-millimetre width, meeting both criteria DIN 66399 sets for P-7. There is no security level above P-7 in the standard.
• Same footprint as the cross-cut 2604 — High security without a larger machine. The cabinet, throat and bin are identical to the P-4 version, so it drops into the same floor space.
• Automatic oiler — Super micro-cut shafts are oiled automatically. This is not optional maintenance on a P-7 head — dry shafts at this particle size lose capacity and jam quickly.
• Electronic Capacity Control — The ECC indicator matters more here than on a coarse machine, because the gap between a working feed and a jam is only a couple of sheets.
• SPS safety shield and auto cut-off — Transparent shield over the feed opening; motor stops when the door is open or the bin is full.
• Zero-energy sleep mode — Full power cut-off after 30 minutes idle.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

Buy this if a written policy, a contract clause or a client requirement names micro-cut or P-6/P-7 destruction and you cannot satisfy it with a cross-cut machine. Legal, R&D, HR investigations and defence-adjacent contractors are the usual buyers. Volume should be modest — this is a machine for a handful of sensitive documents a day, not for clearing a filing cabinet.

Do not buy this if throughput matters. Six to eight sheets per pass is roughly a third of what the P-4 DSH0362L in the same cabinet manages, and the price is materially higher. If P-4 or P-5 satisfies your policy, the DSH0362L or a 3104 in 2 x 15 cross-cut will serve you better for the money. Also note that this configuration handles paper only — no staples, clips, cards or discs — and that MBM covers its shafts for one year rather than for life. If you want a P-7 particle with more capacity, the 4003 super micro-cut is the larger alternative in the Destroyit range.
