MBM DSH0348 4108 cross-cut 1/4" x 2" (6 x 50 mm)

The MBM DSH0348 is the cross-cut build of the Destroyit 4108 conveyor shredder, cutting paper into 1/4 x 2 in (6 x 50 mm) particles of 300 mm² for security level P-3 under DIN 66399. Its powered belt takes 65 to 82 sheets per pass on 70 gsm paper. It is aimed at a building-wide shred station or a destruction service that handles boxes of confidential business records.

Why a cross-cut head on a conveyor chassis

Strip shredders are fast but leave readable ribbons. The DSH0348 cuts each strip across as well, turning a page into short 2 in pieces that are far harder to piece back together, while keeping the hands-off loading that makes the 4108 worth its footprint. An operator sets a stack on the table, the belt carries it into the head, and an automatic reverse-and-refeed cycle clears overloads without anyone reaching in.

Because a cross-cut head works harder per sheet, the electronic oil injection matters here. It lubricates the specially hardened shafts during operation, so the head is not running dry halfway through an archive purge. Keep its reservoir filled with shredder oil and schedule periodic inspections of the cutters and the belt.

What P-3 covers in practice

P-3 is the usual starting level for confidential commercial paper: invoices, purchase orders, internal reports and correspondence. Some privacy programs and client contracts now ask for P-4 or above for personal data, so read your policy before you specify this machine. MBM's product data lists staples, paper clips, credit cards and CDs/DVDs as accepted alongside paper.
