MBM DSH0345 4108 strip-cut 1/4" (6 mm)

The Destroyit 4108 strip-cut is a conveyor-fed, three-phase machine intended for centralised destruction, and this build is the fastest configuration of it: 6 mm strips at DIN 66399 P-2, rated at 75 to 95 sheets per pass. Within the 4108 pair it is the volume option - the cross-cut DSH0348 gives up roughly 13 sheets to gain a security level. Choose between them on what your paper actually contains, not on price.

The 4108 is a floor-standing, three-phase machine built around a powered conveyor belt. You load a stack onto the wide feed table, the belt carries it into the 16.2-inch throat, and an electronic oil injection system lubricates the shafts automatically so the cutting head is not starved during long runs. A rear door opens onto the waste compartment, and the plastic bag suspension pulls out on wheels rather than needing to be lifted.

Specifications

MBM quotes sheet capacity at 70 gsm paper on its published spec sheet and prints an explicit caveat alongside it: "realistic throughputs can be as low as half that of the theoretical capacities quoted." US 20 lb bond is roughly 75 gsm and slightly heavier, so plan around the lower end of the range, not the headline number.

What's in the Box

The machine arrives assembled with its conveyor feed table, waste compartment and wheeled bag suspension frame. Bags are not included. The 4108 uses large-format plastic liners sized to the 79-gallon compartment; confirm the current part number with your dealer, as MBM does not print it on the model spec sheet. Installation requires a 220 V three-phase connection made by an electrician.

Who Should Buy This - and Who Should Not

Buy it for a central destruction point handling real volume where the paper is bulk administrative material: print rooms, distribution centres clearing pick lists and manifests, mailrooms destroying undeliverable mail, production sites reducing paper for recycling. The conveyor is the reason to choose a 4108 over an office machine - an operator loads a stack and walks away rather than standing and feeding handfuls, which changes the labour cost of shredding more than the sheet rating does.

Do not buy it for personal data. A 6 mm strip at P-2 leaves whole lines of text intact, and it will not satisfy a privacy programme, a client confidentiality clause or an auditor. For that, the cross-cut DSH0348 on the identical chassis gives P-3 at 65-82 sheets, and the 4606 gives P-5 at 32-37. Do not buy it without confirming your site has 220 V three-phase power and a floor path wide enough for a 67-inch-deep, 787 lb machine. And if your volume is departmental rather than site-wide, a 4005 on a standard 115 V circuit is a far simpler installation.
