Authorized MBM Destroyit dealer New stock through the manufacturer's authorized channel, with the manufacturer's own warranty · what this covers

Description

DSH0332 is MBM's modular exit conveyor belt system for the Destroyit 5009 high-capacity shredder. In MBM's own words it "transports shredded material to an external container" and "eliminates need to change shred bags" — which is the whole argument for it. On a machine that shreds several hundred sheets per pass, the bag or cart change is what limits throughput, and this accessory removes that step from the operator's routine. It is a restricted item, sold only with or for a 5009.

Notes on Installation and Space

Installation is straightforward by the standards of equipment this size: roll the module into position, secure the door and engage the locking mechanism. The belt drive takes its command from the shredder's own electronics, so there is no separate control to operate.

The space question matters more than the installation. A 5009 on its own is 85.5 inches deep; with the modular exit conveyor belt system fitted, MBM quotes an overall depth of 121 inches. That is nearly three extra feet of floor, plus room for the external container at the discharge end and clearance for staff to work around it. Measure the room before ordering, and check MBM's floor loading and space warnings for the 5009 at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this really eliminate shred bags?

For normal running, yes. MBM's description states the system transports shredded material to an external container and eliminates the need to change shred bags. What you replace is one job with another: instead of swapping a bag or a cart you manage an external container at the discharge end. Most sites keep a case of AC0924 bags as a fallback for when the conveyor is down.

How much extra floor space does it need?

About three feet of depth. MBM quotes the 5009 at 85.5 inches deep on its own and 121 inches deep with the modular exit conveyor belt system fitted. The module itself is 74 inches deep, 27.25 inches wide and 45.75 inches high. Add clearance for the receiving container and for an operator to walk around the discharge end.

Can I retrofit this to a 5009 already installed?

It is designed to be added rather than factory-fitted: the module rolls into position on heavy-duty casters, the door is secured and the locking mechanism engaged, and the belt drive is controlled by the shredder's existing electronics. The practical constraints are the floor space and getting a 359 lb module into the room, not the mechanical fit.

Will it fit any other MBM shredder?

No. MBM restricts this module to the Destroyit 5009. The feed opening, discharge height and the electrical interface to the shredder's controls are all specific to that machine, and no adapter is offered for other Destroyit models.

Does the conveyor run continuously or only when shredding?

The belt drive is controlled by the shredder electronics rather than by a separate switch, so it follows the machine. MBM does not publish the exact start and stop logic, and if the timing matters for integrating with a baler or a downstream container we will get that confirmed by MBM before you order rather than describe behaviour we have not verified.
