The DSH0324 is the practical general-purpose build of the Destroyit 4001: P-4 cross-cut at 4 x 40 mm, 25 to 28 sheets per pass, through the widest throat in this range at 16 inches, into a 44-gallon bin. Compared with the P-5 version of the same cabinet it roughly doubles the sheet rate and adds CD and DVD capability, at the cost of one DIN security step. For a records function that handles mixed paper sizes and needs documented P-4 destruction without electrical work or oil consumables, this is the balanced choice in the 4000 series.

Shred bags are not included; the 44-gallon bin empties directly. AC0901 bags fit if bagged waste is required. The 4001 has no automatic oiler, so there is no oil reservoir to fill.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

Buy this if you want one machine that copes with whatever paper size arrives and meets a P-4 destruction standard. Facilities teams like it because it needs nothing more than a standard outlet and has no oil or bag consumables. Twenty-five to twenty-eight sheets per pass suits a department of fifteen to thirty people, and the optical media capability means discs do not need a separate solution.

Do not buy this if your documents are all letter-size and your volume is high — the 3105 in the same P-4 cut takes 37 to 39 sheets and will clear a backlog considerably faster, though it needs a dedicated 20 amp line. Do not buy it if your policy specifies P-5 or micro-cut; the DSH0323 is the same cabinet at 2 x 15 mm. And if you need this throat width with more motor behind it, the 4003 is the 1.75 HP version of this chassis with an automatic oiler.
