MBM DSH0301L 2503 cross-cut 3/32" x 5/8" (2 x 15 mm)

The MBM DSH0301L is the Destroyit 2503 with a 3/32 x 5/8 in (2 x 15 mm) cross-cut head, a P-5 shredder under DIN 66399 that takes 8-10 sheets of 70 g/m² paper per pass. It feeds a 20-gallon bin through a 10.25-inch throat, which makes high-security shredding workable for a department rather than one desk. Choose it where P-5 is a stated requirement and several people share the machine.

Why a big bin matters most at P-5

The finer the cut, the more air ends up in the waste. A small deskside bin that lasts all week at P-4 can need emptying every other day at P-5, and that chore is what makes people resent high-security shredders. The 2503 uses the same 2 x 15 mm geometry as MBM's 2445 and 2465 but gives the confetti 20 gallons to fill. That keeps the security level you committed to from becoming someone's daily job.

Throughput, care and safety

A P-5 head engages far more cutting edges per sheet than a P-4 one, so from the same 0.75 HP motor you get 8-10 sheets rather than the 12-14 of the P-4 2503. No motor upgrade fixes that; it is inherent to finer cuts. Power shuts off when the cabinet opens or the bin is full, and after 30 minutes idle the machine sleeps with zero energy draw.

Neither bags nor oil come with it. Follow MBM's oiling interval closely, since paper dust lodges between fine teeth and slowly reduces the stack you can feed. Bag the bin rather than tipping 20 gallons of fine particles loose.

• Destroyit 2503 P-4 (DSH0302L): same cabinet and bin at 12-14 sheets if P-4 satisfies your policy.
• Destroyit 2465 P-5 (DSH0069): same particle in a smaller mobile cabinet at 9-11 sheets, for one or two users.
• Destroyit 2604 P-5 (DSH0361L): 14-16 sheets on a 26-gallon bin.

Who it suits

A clinic, law firm file room or finance department working to a contract that names P-5 will get the most from it. If you need CDs destroyed, that is the strip-cut 2503; if throughput matters more than particle size, the P-4 version is quicker.
