MBM DSH0265 4606 cross-cut 1/4" x 2" (6 x 50 mm)

This is the high-throughput build of the 4606: a 6 x 50 mm cross cut at DIN 66399 P-3, rated 50 to 60 sheets a pass. It is the configuration to specify when you need to move a lot of confidential paper through a machine that still fits in a 30 by 29 inch footprint, and when P-3 is genuinely what your policy calls for. Its sibling, the DSH0264, trades about 20 sheets a pass for a P-5 rating.

MBM quotes sheet capacity at 70 gsm paper on its published spec sheet and prints an explicit caveat alongside it: "realistic throughputs can be as low as half that of the theoretical capacities quoted." US 20 lb bond is roughly 75 gsm and slightly heavier, so plan around the lower end of the range, not the headline number.

What's in the Box

Ships assembled on castors with the tilting hopper, fold-out feed table and mobile 61-gallon shred bin. Bags are not included, and MBM does not print a liner part number on the model spec sheet - check the current number with your dealer before you order a case. A 220 V three-phase connection must be installed by an electrician.

Who Should Buy This - and Who Should Not

Buy it as a central shredder for a building whose confidential waste arrives loose and crumpled in sacks or consoles. The hopper plus 50-60 sheets a pass is a genuinely fast way to clear that material, and the small footprint means it can live in a mailroom or store cupboard rather than needing a dedicated bay like the conveyor-fed 4108. If you are replacing an outsourced shredding contract, this is the size of machine that usually makes the arithmetic work.

Do not buy it if your policy names P-4 or higher - and check, because many now do for personal data. P-3 permits 320 mm² particles. The DSH0264, identical in every other respect, gives you P-5 at 32-37 sheets, and that is the honest upgrade path rather than talking yourself into P-3. Do not buy it if you lack 220 V three-phase power. And if your volume genuinely runs to pallets of archive boxes, the conveyor-fed 4108 will cost less operator time even though its P-3 cut is the same as this one.
