MBM DSH0069 2465 cross-cut 3/32" x 5/8" (2 x 15 mm)

The MBM DSH0069 is the Destroyit 2465 with a 3/32 x 5/8 in (2 x 15 mm) cross-cut head, a P-5 shredder under DIN 66399 that handles 9-11 sheets of 70 g/m² paper per pass. A 0.75 HP motor running at 27 ft/min gives it more stack than smaller P-5 deskside machines, in a mobile cabinet no wider than the 2445. It suits a clinic, small legal practice or finance team where a policy names P-5 and more than one person uses the shredder.

Why motor size, not cut size, sets P-5 capacity

MBM uses the same 2 x 15 mm geometry on several cabinets, and the stack changes with the torque behind it. On the 0.5 HP 2445 it manages 6-8 sheets at 14 ft/min. Here, with 0.75 HP and nearly double the cutting speed, it reaches 9-11. On the 1 HP 2604, the figure is 14-16. When comparing P-5 shredders, the particle size tells you little; the motor and speed tell you how long people will stand at the machine.

Day-to-day use in a shared corner

If someone feeds too much, the 2465 reverses and cuts power instead of stalling. Thermal protection stops the motor if it is pushed too hard and lets it restart once cool. Power also cuts out when the bin is full or the door opens. Because the cabinet rolls, you can park it centrally and wheel it to wherever the waste goes.

Plan for oil and bags, neither of which is supplied. Fine P-5 teeth clog with paper dust faster than coarse ones, so stick to the oiling interval in MBM's instructions. A bag helps contain the light confetti when emptying.

Who it suits

It is a strong fit for three or four people who need P-5. Look elsewhere if P-4 would do, if you need CDs or DVDs destroyed (only the strip-cut 2465 takes them), or if a bigger group will fill the 9-gallon bin too quickly.
