MBM DSH0066 2445 cross-cut 3/16" x 1 1/2" (4 x 40 mm)

The MBM DSH0066 is the Destroyit 2445 with a 3/16 x 1 1/2 in (4 x 40 mm) cross-cut head, rated P-4 under DIN 66399 and able to take 11-13 sheets of 70 g/m² paper per pass. It is the volume option in the 2445 family, roughly doubling the stack of the P-5 version with the same 0.5 HP motor. It suits a small office whose policy names P-4 and whose in-tray keeps filling up.

Why most buyers should start with P-4

The 2445 comes with three cutting heads, and the decision is a straight trade of security for speed. P-4 covers the large majority of commercial retention policies, so there is little benefit in paying for smaller particles than your obligations call for. At 4 x 40 mm, the particle is precisely 160 mm², right on the P-4 ceiling. That is a legitimate rating, but if your auditor wants headroom, the Destroyit 2265 cuts 75 mm² at the same level.

Living with the 2445 P-4

A photocell runs the shafts only while paper is passing, and an automatic reverse backs out an overfeed. Power cuts off when the bin is full or the cabinet door is opened. The cabinet is 25 inches tall, 15.5 inches wide and 11.75 inches deep, and at 53 lb with no castors it should go where it will stay. Measure your desk's knee clearance before planning to tuck it underneath.

Running costs are shred bags, which are not included, and shredder oil applied at the interval MBM sets in the operating instructions. The card capability means expired payment cards, ID badges and loyalty cards can go through the same machine, fed one at a time.
