Which shredders does the HSM 2493111 camera system fit?
Only the StoreEx HDS 230, in its single-stage and dual-stage versions. HSM's technical data names no other device type, so the kit is not listed for the HDS 150, the OMDD 130 or any paper shredder. We can ask HSM about a specific machine and serial number if you are unsure.
Do I need the HDS 230 hand scanner as well as the camera?
Only if you want to prove that a particular serial number was destroyed. The scanner, part 2492111, logs each item's identifier, while the camera records the physical shredding. Together they link the two. If a visual record of the process is enough for your audit, the camera on its own will do.
Will the camera make my HDS 230 compliant with a standard?
No, not on its own. The camera is a documentation aid that strengthens your audit trail. Compliance depends on the shredder's particle size, your written destruction process and your operating records, and the camera changes none of those.
What resolution and storage does the HDS 230 camera have?
HSM has not published resolution, storage capacity, retention time or export format for part 2493111. If your policy sets requirements for any of these, contact us and we will obtain a written answer from HSM before you commit to the order.
Can the camera kit be added to an HDS 230 that is already installed?
