ACCED21/G is four one-gallon bottles of MBM Destroyit shredder oil for the automatic oilers on the company's high-capacity machines. This is the pack for the 4605, 4606 and 5009 — shredders whose cutting heads are long enough and whose duty cycles are heavy enough that quart bottles become a nuisance.

MBM lists this pack for the automatic oiler Destroyit models 4605, 4606 and 5009. The 5009 in particular is a three-phase, 24 horsepower machine rated at several hundred sheets per pass, and its lubrication demand is in a different class from an office shredder.

Four gallons is a bulk holding, so store it somewhere temperature-stable and keep the caps sealed. On a machine of this size, lubrication is the cheapest part of the maintenance budget and the one most likely to be skipped. The 5009 draws 24 horsepower through a 50 amp three-phase supply; a cutting head that is running dry turns that power into heat and wear rather than throughput.

MBM publishes no consumption figure for these machines, so treat the reservoir as a level to be checked rather than a task on a calendar. The sensible routine is to look at it every time the collection cart or the external container at the end of the conveyor is emptied, and to top it up before it reaches the bottom of the sight window.

MBM also states that its shredder oil is formulated for use in any Destroyit model, so if you run smaller Destroyit machines alongside a 4605 or a 5009, this pack can serve both. Decant into a clean, labelled squeeze bottle for the hand-oiled units.
