Powershred LX210 Cross-Cut Shredder (White)

The Fellowes Powershred LX210 (White) is a 16-sheet P-4 shredder with a white housing that runs for 20 minutes at a time and reduces paper to particles of about 48 mm² (5/32 x 1/2 in). It is a good fit for a home office, small practice or client-facing desk that clears paperwork in regular batches and wants the shredder to look tidy in the room.

Planning a batch on the white LX210

Twenty minutes of running at 16 sheets a feed is a solid block of shredding, enough for a quarter's worth of receipts or a box of expired client papers. The practical limit is the bin rather than the motor. Because it holds 6 gallons, the same as the LX200, keep a liner ready and expect to empty it partway through a heavy session. The fine particle packs tightly, which helps.

At 26.9 lb and 21.06 x 11.69 x 14.13 in, it fits under or beside a desk, and the white housing reads as office furniture rather than equipment in a visible spot.

How secure is a 48 mm² particle?

For personal and business paperwork, it is a strong result: about a third of the area left by Fellowes' P-4 Ci cross-cut models. DIN 66399 still places it at P-4. Fellowes' micro-cut wording does not mean P-5, which caps particles at 30 mm², so check any written policy before you buy.

Cards, staples, paper clips and sealed junk mail all go through the 9 in (230 mm) entry. Discs, laminates, labels, cardboard and folders do not. Oil it with Fellowes 35250 at each emptying.

Choosing among the white LX models

The white LX200 (5015101) is smaller, with 12 sheets and a 10-minute run on the same bin, and suits lighter use. The white LX220 (5015501) moves to 20 sheets, 30 minutes and an 8-gallon bin for heavier batches. The LX210 sits between the two.

Who it suits

Choose the white LX210 if you shred in weekly or monthly batches, want a fine cut and need the machine to look at home in a client-facing space. Choose something else if you need to destroy optical discs, must meet P-5, or want fewer bin changes in a long session.
