DAHLE CleanTEC 41434 High Security Paper Shredder w/Fine Dust Filter, Automatic Oiler, SmartPower, Security Level P-7, 3-5 Users

The Dahle CleanTEC 41434 is the workhorse of Dahle's NSA-listed high-security range: the same 1 x 4.7 mm P-7 particle as the smaller 41334, but rated by NSA for high volume and fed by a 30-gallon bin instead of 23. Eight sheets per pass through a 10.25-inch throat. If you have a documented NSA/CSS 02-01 destruction requirement and more than a couple of people generating classified waste, this is the model that stops the shredder becoming the bottleneck.

• NSA/CSS EPL listed, high-volume rating. Dahle North America's 41434 appears on the current NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List for paper shredders with a high-volume rating. Listing, not particle size alone, is what constitutes NSA approval.
• 1 x 4.7 mm particle, DIN 66399 P-7. 4.7 mm² per fragment, inside the 5 mm² P-7 ceiling with a 1 mm strip width.
• 8 sheets per pass at 20 lb bond. Three sheets more than the 41334, which is a 60% increase in throughput on a machine class where every sheet counts.
• 30-gallon waste bin. Seven gallons more than the 41334. Because P-7 waste packs densely, bin capacity translates almost directly into time between empties.
• CleanTEC fine dust filtration. Dahle states up to 98% of fine dust is captured at the cutting head.
• Automatic EvenFlow Lubricator. Continuous automatic lubrication of the cutting cylinders, removing the manual oiling step that high-security heads otherwise require.
• Chain-driven, continuous-duty motor. Specified for slip-free power under sustained P-7 load, with automatic power-down after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Figures above are as published by Dahle for this model. Dahle quotes sheet capacity under ideal conditions - new cutting cylinders, a cold motor and a supply at nominal voltage and frequency. Dahle does not publish a motor wattage, amperage or duty-cycle figure for this shredder.

What's in the Box

Dahle does not publish a full packing list for this model. What ships is the assembled shredder on its waste-bin cabinet with lockable casters, the power cord and the instruction manual.

• Shred bags are not included. The 30 gallons bin takes Dahle shred bags item #20725, sold separately in boxes of 100.
• The CleanTEC dust filter is fitted at the factory. Replacements are a separate consumable.
• The EvenFlow Lubricator requires Dahle shredder oil, which is an ongoing consumable and is not supplied in quantity with the machine.

Who Should Buy This - and Who Should Not

Choose the 41434 for a secure office or programme team of roughly three to five people with an ongoing classified destruction load. It is the middle of Dahle's high-security range and the point at which the machine stops feeling like a constraint on the working day.

If your classified volume is genuinely light - one workstation, occasional destruction - the CleanTEC 41334 costs less and does the same cut at 5 sheets a pass. If you are centralizing destruction for a whole secure facility, the CleanTEC 41534 gives you a 12-inch throat and a 38-gallon bin in a department cabinet. And if you do not have an NSA or P-7 requirement in writing, this is the wrong purchase: you will pay high-security prices and accept 8 sheets per pass when a Dahle 51414 at P-4 would take 18 and satisfy the overwhelming majority of commercial destruction policies.
