If you already know the OmniShred is the right machine for your material and your only reservation is how often someone has to stop and empty it, the 115 is the answer to that specific question.

What's in the Box

Machine assembled with one cardboard container fitted. Replacement containers are a consumable - order a supply with the machine, because the whole workflow advantage of the 115 depends on having a spare ready to drop in. Bags are not included.

Working with the removable container

The container is lifted out complete and replaced rather than tipped, which is the practical difference from the OmniShred 85. That suits sites where destroyed waste is handed to a contractor sealed, and it avoids the dust that comes with emptying a rigid bin by hand. It also makes the containers a consumable line item: keep a stock on hand, because an empty cabinet with no container available means the machine stops. Watch the fill level with mixed loads in particular - cardboard, pill bottles and blister packs occupy far more volume per item than paper does.

Who Should Buy This - and Who Should Not

Buy the OmniShred 115 where the OmniShred's material range is what you need but the destruction happens in concentrated sessions: a hospital pharmacy clearing a week of labelled containers, a facilities team decommissioning access fobs in batches, a records office running a purge day. The removable container also suits sites where the waste has to be handed to a contractor as a sealed unit rather than tipped into a shared bin.

Do not pay for it if your volume is steady and modest - the OmniShred 85 is mechanically identical, shorter at 81 cm against 108.5 cm, and lighter at 90 kg against 100 kg. Nothing about the destruction is better on the 115. Do not buy either OmniShred if you need P-5 or higher security; the intimus 60 CP5 and 60 CP7 cover that, at much lower sheet capacity. And for high-volume paper-only work, an industrial machine such as the intimus H200 CP4 takes 75 sheets a pass and is the cheaper route per page.
