KOBRA 300.2 C4

The KOBRA 300.2 C4 is a P-4 cross-cut departmental shredder that cuts 3.9 x 40 mm particles at 25-27 sheets per pass, driven by a 900 W (1 1/2 HP) continuous-duty motor into a 40-gallon (150-liter) cabinet. It is meant for a busy floor that destroys personal data every day or periodically works through archive boxes, where the smaller 300.1 C4 would run short of bin and motor.

A 300.1 C4 cut with more muscle and more bin

Both 300-series C4 models use the same cutting head, producing a 156 mm² particle just inside the 160 mm² limit DIN 66399 sets for P-4. The 300.2 C4 adds a 900 W motor in place of 600 W, a 150-liter cabinet in place of 110, and a taller 43.4 in frame. In practice that lifts the stack from 20-22 to 25-27 sheets and lets one person clear a full box without stopping to change the bag. Third-party listings often mix up the 300.1 and 300.2 figures, so check bin size and height when comparing.

When checking compliance, use KOBRA's metric figure. Rounded imperial versions of this cut, such as 3/16 x 1-1/2 in, describe a larger particle that would not qualify as P-4.

Materials, safety and upkeep

Beyond paper, KOBRA lists credit cards, chip cards, films, CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray discs and floppy disks, the widest list on this cabinet. Feed hard media one piece at a time. The carbon-hardened knives run on a metal chain with steel gears and are rated as unaffected by staples and clips. Automatic reverse, a door-open and bin-full safety stop, auto start and stop, and Energy Smart standby after eight seconds complete the feature set.
