KOBRA 270 TS C2 AO

The KOBRA 270 TS C2 AO is a P-5 micro-cut shredder that turns paper into 1.9 x 15 mm particles and feeds through a 12.2 in (310 mm) throat wide enough for 11 x 17 in tabloid sheets laid flat. It has a 29-gallon bin and an automatic oiling system as standard. It is aimed at departments with a P-5 policy that handle oversized paper or are tired of emptying a smaller bin.

What the 270 cabinet adds over the 260 TS C2 AO

The cutting head is the same 1.9 x 15 mm P-5 unit found on the smaller 260 TS C2 AO, driven by the same 3/4 HP (500 W) motor. What changes is the frame around it. The paper opening grows from 10.25 in to 12.2 in, so drawings, ledgers and tabloid printouts go in without folding, and the bin grows from 80 to 110 liters, roughly 40 percent more space between bag changes. Sheet capacity does not grow: both machines take 10-12 sheets of 80 gsm paper.

P-5 for records that need more than P-4

DIN 66399 caps P-5 particles at 30 mm², and this head produces 28.5 mm². That is a step above the P-4 level most commercial policies require, and a sensible choice for HR case files, financial statements, client records and medical paperwork. It is not suitable for classified material governed by NSA/CSS 02-01; that calls for a P-7 machine on the NSA list.

Oiling, safety and placement

Fine micro-cut knives depend on lubrication, and the AO system applies oil during operation so nobody has to remember. Refill bottles and bags are consumables bought separately. The touch panel shows bin, jam and mode status; the motor runs continuously for 24 hours and reverses on a jam, and interlocks stop it when the door opens or the bin fills. At 101 lb and 20.9 in wide, measure doorways and elevators before delivery.
