The intimus 130 CP4 225154 is a P-4 cross-cut cabinet shredder built around the largest bin in intimus's 310 mm office line: 135 liters (approx. 36 gallons). Its 3.8 x 36 mm head takes up to 25 sheets per pass, the same as the 100 and 120 CP4. This standard version has no automatic oiler. It is for a department that fills shredder bags too often and has a person who will handle cylinder oiling.

Buying capacity between bag changes

Moving from the 100 CP4 to the 130 CP4 adds 35 liters of bin without taking any more floor, because only the cabinet height grows. That is the whole point of this model. It does not shred any faster: the head, the 25-sheet pass and the 680 sheets per minute figure from intimus North America are shared across all three cabinets. Teams that empty a 100-liter bin daily will go noticeably longer between changes, while teams struggling with stack size need a bigger-throat machine such as the intimus 175 CP4 instead.

Keeping the 225154 in warranty

Plan for regular cylinder oiling, following the operator's manual. intimus North America's policy states that cross-cut machines need this and that skipping it may void cover, including the lifetime limited protection against cylinder fracture. Because a big bin means fewer reasons to open the cabinet, tie oiling to a calendar reminder rather than to bag changes. The 225254P1 is the same shredder with an automatic oiler, if no one will own the job.

Using the 130 CP4 day to day

Paper detection starts the cutters through the i-Control switch, which also stops them and sets sleep mode. A front gauge shows the load from each stack, and the head reverses on its own when overfed. Staples, paper clips, optical discs, plastic cards, floppy disks and foil are rated, the last few for occasional use.

Who should buy the 130 CP4

A department beside a busy copy room, shredding everyday personnel and customer paperwork at P-4, with a facilities person who keeps a maintenance schedule. Look elsewhere if you need it under a desk, if your contracts call for P-5, or if no one will oil it. Waste bags are not supplied.
