That is fine for destroying working papers on the spot, not for clearing an archive. Automatic jam protection helps on a machine where it is easy to push in one sheet too many. The head is rated for paper only, so remove staples and clips and destroy cards and discs by another approved method. Unlike Dahle's cabinet models, the 20434DS has no automatic oiler: lubricate it by hand with Dahle shredder oil as the manual directs.
