The SX15-06 is the model that turns ACCO's ShredMaster range from a personal product into a working one. Fifteen sheets a pass at DIN 66399 P-4 is a useful figure; a 120-minute run time is what makes it usable, because it is twenty times what the PX10-06 below it manages.

The bin did not grow with the duty cycle. At 6 gallons it is the same container fitted to the ten-sheet models, so a machine that can run for two hours will fill its bin well inside that. Bear that in mind when you are comparing it against the SX20-08, which pairs a longer duty cycle with a larger bin.

ACCO's own listing for this model uses the word micro-cut in the product name while describing the head as a super cross-cut and rating it P-4 in the specification table. The geometry settles it: 4 by 38 mm is about 152 mm², which is a P-4 cross-cut particle. DIN 66399 does not recognise micro-cut below P-5, where the ceiling is 30 mm². We have listed the machine by the standard so that it files correctly, and we mention the discrepancy because you will see the other word on the box.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

Buy the SX15-06 for a home office or a two-person workspace that shreds in sessions rather than a sheet at a time. Two hours of run time means a backlog can be cleared in one go, fifteen sheets a pass means it does not take all afternoon, and under 58 dB it can run while someone is on the phone in the same room. For the money it is the best-balanced machine in ACCO's personal range.

Do not buy it if the bin will annoy you. Six gallons holds roughly 250 sheets of cross-cut waste, so a two-hour session will mean several emptyings; the SX20-08 gives you an 8-gallon bin, twenty sheets a pass and four hours of run time in a slightly larger cabinet, and for most buyers considering both it is the better long-term choice. Do not buy it if you need a finer cut: the SM15-08 uses the same cabinet with a roughly 40 mm² particle. And it is not rated for cards or discs, so if those are part of your waste stream you need a Momentum model instead.
