GBC ShredMaster Home Office Shredder, PSX10-06, Super Cross-Cut, P-4, 10 Sheets

The PSX10-06 is a home office shredder that does one thing carefully: it destroys ten sheets at a time to DIN 66399 P-4, quietly, in an upright cabinet that takes up about as much floor as a waste basket.

It is the taller of ACCO's two ten-sheet ShredMaster models. The PX10-06 uses the same cutting head, the same 6-gallon bin and the same six-minute run time in a wider, lower, front-facing body. Choose between them on where the machine has to stand rather than on what it does — ACCO publishes no functional difference between the two.

One note on terminology. ACCO's product page describes this head as micro-cut while also rating it P-4, and the two statements pull in different directions. Under DIN 66399, micro-cut begins at P-5, where a particle must be 30 mm² or smaller; a 4 x 38 mm particle is around 152 mm² and belongs to the cross-cut classes. We have classified this machine by the standard, as a P-4 super cross-cut, so it files correctly against a security specification. If a policy says micro-cut and means P-5, this machine will not satisfy it — the ShredMaster SM15-08 is ACCO's nearest answer, and even there the published geometry is worth checking.

Sheet capacity is quoted on 20 lb paper, ACCO's stated basis for the ShredMaster range. ACCO does not publish a motor wattage or a shipping weight for every model, so those rows appear only where the manufacturer states them.

Who Should Buy This — and Who Should Not

Buy the PSX10-06 for a home office or a single desk where a modest amount of genuinely confidential paper accumulates — statements, medical letters, client correspondence — and you want it destroyed properly rather than torn up. P-4 is the ordinary commercial standard, the machine takes staples so nothing needs preparing, and at under 62 dBA it will not dominate a small room.

Do not buy it for volume. Ten sheets a pass and a six-minute run time make this a machine for a handful of documents at a sitting, not a filing cabinet; if you have a backlog to clear, the SX15-06 at fifteen sheets and two hours of run time, or the SX20-08 at twenty sheets and four hours, are far better matched. Do not buy it if a policy names P-5 or micro-cut in the DIN sense. And if you would rather the machine sat low and wide than tall and narrow, the PX10-06 is the identical specification in that shape.
