Description

These are ACCO's largest shredder liners: 35-60 gallon plastic bags, part number 1145482, supplied 100 to a pack. They are specified for GBC's TAA compliant commercial cabinets — the wheeled machines with wooden or steel bodies and pull-out containers measured in the tens of gallons.

At this scale the liner is not a convenience, it is a manual-handling measure. A 50-gallon container of shredded paper is heavy and unwieldy, and lifting it out to tip it is a genuinely awkward job. With a bag, the operator lifts a closed sack and the container never moves.

Compatible Models

ACCO names the following TAA compliant commercial cabinets on this part's compatibility list:

  • GBC CX22-44, CX25-36, CX30-55 and CX40-59 cross-cut cabinets
  • GBC CS25-44, CS30-36 and CS39-55 strip-cut cabinets
  • GBC CSM11-44 micro-cut cabinet
  • GBC CM15-30 micro-cut cabinet
  • GBC CHS10-30 high-security cabinet

The CHS10-30 and CM15-30 appear on this list as well as on the 30-gallon bag (part 1765015), because their published container is 100 litres, roughly 26 gallons. Either liner will work on those two; the 30-gallon bag is the closer fit and the more economical choice unless you are standardising on one part across a fleet.

Reordering

One hundred bags is a fleet purchase rather than a single-machine one. A central shredding station emptied daily will use around 250 a year; a cabinet on a departmental floor emptied twice a week will use around 100. If you run several cabinets, this single part covers the whole TAA commercial range, which is worth knowing when you are trying to reduce the number of consumable lines on a purchase order.

Order shredder oil alongside it. ACCO part 1760049 is the lubricant named in the operating manual for the CX22-44 and CX34-44, and the same discipline applies across the range: oil the cutters every time the bag is changed, and the machine will hold its rated sheet capacity for years rather than months.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which shredders do these fit?

ACCO lists the TAA compliant CX22-44, CX25-36, CX30-55 and CX40-59 cross-cut cabinets, the CS25-44, CS30-36 and CS39-55 strip-cut cabinets, the CSM11-44 and CM15-30 micro-cut cabinets and the CHS10-30 high-security cabinet. If your machine is a GBC TAA commercial cabinet, this is the bag for it.

How many bags come in a pack?

One hundred. They are also sold in multiples of that, so a three-pack is 300 bags. That is a fleet quantity: a single cabinet emptied twice a week will take around a year to use a pack, while a central shredding station emptied daily will get through one in about five months.

Should I use these on a CHS10-30 or CM15-30?

You can — both are on this part's list — but those two cabinets have a 100 litre container, about 26 gallons, so a 35-60 gallon bag is generously oversized. The 30-gallon bag, part 1765015, is the closer fit and the cheaper one. Use this bag on them only if you would rather stock a single part across a mixed fleet.

Does one bag really cover 35 to 60 gallons?

Yes. A shredder liner is not sized like a rigid container: it sits inside the bin with a cuff folded over the rim, so a generous bag simply has more slack. In a 35-gallon bin you will have a fair amount of bag to gather at the top; in a 59-gallon bin it will be close to full height.

Do I need a liner on a commercial cabinet?

It is strongly advisable. A full container at this size is heavy enough to be a manual-handling concern, and tipping one produces a cloud of paper dust. With a bag, the container stays in the cabinet and the operator carries a closed sack. Some confidential waste contractors will also only accept material presented in a sealed bag.
